文系大学院の就職について。 今年文系大学院(法学研究科)を修士で卒業し、就職しました。学部時代１浪しています。 元々文系大学院は就職が不利になりがちだと言われていましたが押し切って院進しました。関西大学から立命館大学院です。立命館が私の条件とマッチしていたので選びました。結果はまずまずでした。 超大手企業ではありませんが、お給料は平均と比べたらかなり多い場所に入る事が出来ました。少なくとも学部から行ったら落ちたと考えています。そこでどういった人が文系院で就職に不利になってしまうのか考えてみました。 学部卒の同期とご飯を食べながら学生時代の話になったので一緒に考えてみました。 結論はこうでした。 ①年齢的に不利なのは事実。これは専門職以外に望んでいても否でも文系就職することになった理系の人も同じ。院進した以上受け入れるしかないデメリット。 ②院を過信して高望みしがちになる。就職で有利になりやすい理系院の人でもしないような高望みをする人が多い。 折角院にいったのだから高給高待遇でないと嫌だ、という思いが強い。高望みせずに実力相応〜チャレンジ層ぐらいを多く受ければそこそこの企業には行ける。(私がこれでした) 自己満足で行ったとはいえ、努力をしっかり伝えれば企業はそれなりに答えてくれる。 ③理系と違い直接的なプラスに企業目線でならない。もちろん院で培った文章作成力やプレゼン力・高い集中力は間接的には役立つかもしれませんが、目に見える効果にはなりにくい。 ④文系院を文系学部と同じく、理系よりは易しいと誤認して就職の逃げ口にする人が少なからずいる。その結果予想と違って忙しい文系院に苦戦して就活をまともに出来ず、もちろん面接でも自分の院での努力を説明できない為落ちる。結果それを院のせいにしてネット等に書き込む。 以上が不利と言われる理由だと考えたのですがどうでしょうか？
